Lawful Development Certificate
Evolution Town Planning gained a lawful development certificate for a timber sawmill with a retail showroom in order to allow our client to buy the business.
The business had operated under a longstanding permission and over time the use of the site and the retail element had expanded from the use originally permitted. A lawful development certificate was required in order to give our client comfort that they could operate the business with a sound planning consent.
To argue for a lawful development certificate that allowed retail use from this rural site we worked with the client, their employees and solicitor to build a secure case that was accepted by the local Council. The result was that the business was successfully taken over by our client and continues to operate.
