AgriGen; Anaerobic Digestion Plant

Evolution Town Planning were successful in obtaining planning permission for a 4 megawatt anaerobic digestion plant in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with the setting of a Grade 1 listed building in Rendlesham, Suffolk.

The planning application enlarged an earlier planning permission for a smaller plant and included design changes and increased capacity reflecting improvements in technology and processes.

Despite the earlier smaller plant having been required to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment we were successful, using our knowledge of EIA and anaerobic digestion, in screening the larger plant out of requiring EIA.
