We're Hiring!

Consent has been granted for a Care Home in a Suffolk village to be used as a house. Planning consent was required quickly when the care home closed and our client found a purchaser for the building known as Westhorpe Hall. The purchaser needed a Change of Use planning consent to complete the sale. The Hall was in a high risk flood area and is an important Grade II Listed Building,  and the moated site and surrounding fishponds are a Scheduled Monument. The moated site contains the remains of a great house built in the 16th Century by Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk and husband of Mary Tudor, Sister of Henry VIII and Dowager Queen of France.

We were able to make use of our experience of historic conversions and good network of consultants to help with a Historic Assessment and Flood Risk Assessment.

We were able to make a convincing case for the development which resulted in a quick and simple approval.
