Golf Club Reservoir

We are pleased to have been able to help Ipswich Golf Club gain planning consent for a new reservoir. The Club is seen as the best in Suffolk and attracts players from across the UK and abroad. Dryer summers have made keeping the course in good condition more difficult. The reservoir will capture excess winter rainfall for summer use. The application presented several challenges most notably because the site is highly protected for its ecology and landscape. The course is an attracive venue and care was needed to esnure that the attractive character of the course was retained. It was important to demonstrate that the abstraction of winter water would not harm the local rivers.

To ensure that consent was granted, we carried out pre application discussions focusing on drainage, ecology, and landscape. Receiving a positive response allowed the planning application to be approved smoothly and quickly.
