A New Sign for Bury Rugby Club
June 3, 2020
We have been long-term supporters and sponsors of Bury Rugby Club and are pleased to have helped them gain planning permission for the new advertising board for Bury Rugby Club, providing pro bono planning advice.
Bury Rugby Club is an important part of the local community. The club was established in 1925, and has long been held with affection by the people of Bury St Edmunds. Nearly 95 years on the club welcomes members from aged 6 upwards to play rugby in the community, it also offers enthusiasts of the sport the opportunity to watch top quality rugby. The men’s semi-professional 1st team, the ‘Wolfpack,’ currently play their rugby in National League 2 South. That is the 4th tier of the national rugby structure and being in the top 60 clubs in England. This is the highest level at which the club has ever played. The club is also very proud to currently be the top ranked club in both Norfolk and Suffolk and the 2nd best placed team in the whole of East Anglia. The women’s amateur team, the ‘Foxes,’ after only a few years in existence, recently gained promotion to the 3rd tier of national women’s rugby and will now play their rugby in National Championship 2 Midlands. There is a thriving children’s section with several hundred children playing rugby at the club.
In this time of uncertainty, sports clubs have been hit very hard. The new sign will be of particular importance to the club and the revenue generated by the sponsorships on the sign will be a most necessary and vital income.
