Leisure Development Planning Applications and Appeals

The Bay Filey is an award winning purpose built holiday village on the Yorkshire coast.

Owned and run by Essential Vivendi work started on the site in 2006. There are now around 300 traditionally built holiday homes, and the site will eventually have around 450 to 500 homes.

Working closely with an established development team, Evolution Town Planning has submitted a number of planning applications for new phases of the development. We have worked with the clients and planning authority to streamline the planning process through the use of standard planning application documents, and by reducing the number of planning conditions on planning approvals.

Many planning approvals have been gained locally and on appeal. In 2013 approval was gained at an appeal hearing for 14 holiday homes with a partial award of costs in favour of our client. Gaining this consent required a careful understanding of the design and operation of the holiday village and communicating these complex issues to the Planning Inspector. A comprehensive appeal statement and clear arguments ensured that the Inspector allowed the appeal.
