Infill Housing at Appeal
Working for Richmond Properties on a site in Beverley, in Yorkshire, we obtained planning consent for two houses on an infill plot.
The first planning consent for one house was gained locally, the second consent was gained by a written representations appeal. Both approvals were obtained following careful design of the homes to protect the amenity of the neighbours and to ensure that they accorded with the local character.
The appeal was required after the Council raised concerns over the vehicular access, and the size of the second proposed house. The appeal was successful following a careful explanation of the design of the proposal to the planning inspector, and an assessment of local precedents for the vehicular a ccess. The appeal win resulted in a partial award of costs in favour of our client as a result of our arguments that part of the councils refusal was unreasonable.
