Development requiring Environmental Impact Assessment
Evolution Town Planning are experienced in managing development proposals through the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. This includes ‘screening’ to determine whether projects are EIA and then ‘scoping’ to agree what they need to contain.
We consider that only a very small proportion of relevant development will require an EIA so we approach the initial screening stage this way. If a development is determined to be EIA we believe that the scope of the assessment should be specific only to those subjects of most concern. We can manage the production of Environmental Statements and will aim to keep the topics included in them to a necessary minimum.
We have recently been successful in agreeing with relevant local planning authorities that developments in sensitive locations are not EIA and this includes a new marina and moorings at a boatyard on a river which includes international wildlife designations and a large renewable energy facility in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and near to a Grade 1 Listed Building.
