Commercial Success
June 30, 2022
We are pleased to have had success at Planning Committee with five commercial applications on one site in Breckland District. The applications allow a longstanding business to increase their hours of operation and to construct a new warehouse on a rural site in Norfolk. The business has operated from the site for many years, however, the applications were controversial locally because of concerns over noise and traffic movements. Professional noise surveys were carried out to understand the noise environment and sensible mitigation was proposed. This gained the support of the Council’s Environmental Health Officer. Concerns over traffic movements were discussed with Norfolk County Council Highways Officers. We proposed a lorry routing agreement and improved onsite parking which gained the support of Planning Officers. Other issues addressed were the impact on Stone Curlews, visual impact on the countryside and a Grade 1 Listed church.
We are pleased that the planning committee strongly supported the proposals despite significant objections.
