New Year Grand Design
January 31, 2020
The Christmas and New Year period has been busy with planning approvals. We have achieved permission for new homes outside village settlement boundaries. These locations are not the preferred sites for new housing. In the past month, we have achieved permission on sites ranging from 1 to 9 homes addressing issues such as sustainability, highways design and landscape impact. In several applications close work with neighbours and Parish Councils has helped applications be approved quickly at local level.
We have been successful in achieving planning consents for barn conversions. Permitted development rights now give many more opportunities for barn conversions. As permitted development rights only allow minor changes to barns we often use permitted development rights to achieve the principle of development and then improve the design with planning applications. We have recently achieved what will be a ‘grand design’ in a South Cambridgeshire village as shown on the attached drawing.
