Planning Consent has been obtained for a 75 holiday home extension to the popular holiday village known as The Bay near Filey in Yorkshire. The planning application responded to a change in national and local planning policy that allows holiday home developments outside settlement boundaries. This planning application represents the largest such holiday development in the area outside an existing settlement or local plan allocation. The planning application had to overcome resistance to development in the countryside and address the landscape and visual impact of the proposal. Providing on site and off site mitigation for Great Crested Newts ensured that biodiversity was maintained and ecological benefits supported.
