Burnham-On-Crouch Mixed Use Development

Full planning permission was granted in Burnham-on-Crouch in August 2017 for 180 homes, a 50-60 bed care home, a nursery school and 3.4 hectares of B1, B2 and B8 uses. The site has also been allocated for development in the new Maldon Local Plan.
The proposal was initially very contentious with local pressure groups and Councillors objecting to the scheme. Amendments to the proposal to address local issues, and to provide housing for the elderly, ensured that the proposal was approved locally without the need to appeal, like many others in the District.
